Prophecy '07

The Block 21 prophecy was written by Ellis Christian Anthony T. Sy-Su, a brother, a friend, a classmate.

“Ellis, wake up. You’re late again!”

I opened my eyes and got surprised to see the unfamiliar face that woke me up. And another big surprise to see the calendar swelled to 2020. May 21 still. And the antique clock ticks in a counter clockwise direction!!!

"You are supposed to be at the airport at 10. Now go.”

“Who are you?” I asked frantically.

“Don’t tell me you’ve got an amnesia or something. Or is that your alibi to tell me you are late because you forgot. Now get to shower and I’ll fix your things”, the woman said.

But I’m supposed to be dreaming.

I got up the plane when I heard the Flight attendant tells us that it’s a special trip because Captain FREDERICK CRUZ is the pilot of the plane. He’s an international pilot with the biggest salary a pilot could ever have. Wow!

When the plane flew, I got the paperback that Edessa, my executive assistant, put in my bag- LEXA ELAINE CAPUYAN was the writer, an International Best-Seller and Nobel-Prize winner. The Sidney Sheldon’s fan turned out to be a world- class writer of Classical, sci-fi, drama, suspense. Name it. A very versatile writer.

I spent the next few hours asking myself what’s really happening. Until I’ve got to the conclusion that I have traveled across time and space and got to the future. The only logical reason I knew to explain it. Or was it really logical?

“Hello Philippines”, EMMAHLEE JADE FLORES, the present General Manager of NAIA greeted us personally. And as she sees me, she stops on his tracks and we both say “Kamusta ka naman?” We laughed as we remembered the expression in our College years.
 

Then we bade goodbye as the van fetched us at the airport. I noticed that the van logo was BP Company, “Besitan-Palantog” and she said that its APRIL BESITAN and LUZDIELYNE PALANTOG, my college pals. The driver said that Besitan-Palantog Comp is the largest selling company of vans.

Then I asked Edessa what am I supposed to do here in the Philippines. She looked at me blankly. And then with disbelief.

“Why, you really got amnesia. A fever, I guess, Tsk… Tsk… or another of your tantrums”, she said.

“Me, having tantrums? Oh, never mind. Please just answer me.”

“Okay, you’ll have to attend your BLOCK REUNION 7 days from now. But you have many appointments starting today so we flew from Europe to here. Is that clear? Now, we have to go to Paso de Blas, Palawan to meet PEARL JOEI MAYOR.”

We got there at 6:00 PM.

“Oh, Ellis cousin, there you are. I had just came from a cruise in the Carribean. How about you? I’ve heard you owned a number of yachts in Europe.”

“Me, I owned? Ah, ah, yes I owned. Yes, that's right but only a few," I mingled.

An hour later, DONNA MAE COMORA arrived in Palawan. She’s a shipping magnate with the likes of Aristotle Onassis because she’s competing with the worlds greatest shipping industry. She visited Pearl while unloading their cargo. We talked a little and Donna said goodbye because they’ll have to go to Australia.

My meeting with Pearl was finished at 8 o’clock in the evening. We talked about developing a real state in Paso de Blas by ANABELLE TORIO, the country’s leading real state developer.

The next day, I go back to Manila because Edessa says I have an appointment with GRIFFIN.

"Edessa, what’s Griffin?" I asked. First she looked at me suspiciously before answering, Griffin Group of Companies. You’re supposed to know that more clearly than me because you’re one of the board of directors!

Okay, who’s the CEO?

" EMIL GREGGY GINES," she grinned.

We’ve arrived at Griffin Hotel, Ayala Avenue, Makati.

"Friend, long time no see. How are you? Through the years, Griffin developed into a world class company," Emil said. 

"Yeah, and it’s all because of you," I congratulated him.

"Oh, here’s our friend… Let’s start the meeting. Let’s hear from our vice president JAYVEE MAGABO".

Jayvee, with the degree in business administration, explained. It’s about the new product to be endorsed by model Alyssa. We should have to include Amira and Nolissa, the two heads behind this wonderful product and to be directed by Endrik.

What a tiring but amazing day. Did that really happen? I learned that BEATRICE ALYSSA BARTOLOME is one of the top and in demand model of this field. Wow!

AMIRA SANTOS and NOLISSA JOHNNA MANGILA, both inventors have created many skin care products and has proven effective. Their names are now institution when it comes to beauty products. ENDRIK SY is now a very successful director in one advertising firm. Also, ELA MANGUERRA is the genius behind the creation of Griffin Hotel, the tallest skyscraper next to Sears Towers. She also created five famous landscape architecture here in Philippines and two in Paris.

While ESTEPHANIE JOY ENCOMIENDA, the Griffin’s corporate lawyer is also the head of Makati Business Club. She and JOAN YARRA, now a certified public accountant, plans to build a bank of their own. Amazing!

After the board meeting, we went to Emil’s mansion to celebrate our company’s success.

The third day, the “mahaderang” Edessa thinks I’m out of my mind because I speak and act things which are unsual to me – especially in meetings and conferences.

So she arranged a meeting with me and a psychologist. I’m glad it’s Doctor KEMPEE LABI in his immaculately white outfit and a nice clinic. Five minutes later, NICHOLE MARA LA-ED, a successful computer engineer who also owns a cyber café came. The would-be check up turns to endless chatting.

 

They told me that they’re planning to marry soon and reside and Switzerland.
At exactly 7 o’clock P.M. , I was at the MachoPapa Company, it is one of the top caliber when it comes to broadway musical, theater and band.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m presenting to you the MachoPapa band, the hottest band of today’s generation. Let’s give them a round of applause. 

And the crowd goes wild.

I learned that LYZZA JOYCE LIBAO, the vocalist graduated nursing but rode the wheels of music. She’s a multi talented Beethoven come to life and has solo concerts abroad.
A hollywood’s touch enters the scene as oscar awards winning director JOANN TUAPIN sings with all glory and thundering heights.

Then, JOSHUA SEPULCHRE, the guitarist is also a doctor and most patients go to him. Why not? He’s not just as intelligent as a doctor and talented as a guitarist but also resembled a matinee idol.

Also, LESTER JOHN LEON, the lead guitarist is also a skilled surgeon. He had done several operations which seems like only has the license to do so. He had also boomed the headline for treating a prime minister of a disease I forgot to asked. As I was drinking my champagne, I caught a glimpsed of a very beautiful and gorgeous woman heading my way. Who’s that voluptuous woman? I was surprised to know it’s RAISSA ANNE TONGOL.

"You’ve grown an inch taller, I hardly recognized you," I said.

"Loko me ah," she said smiling.

I learned that she’s the associate editor of the New York Times and had one week vacation here in the Philippines to attend our BLOCK REUNION and to finish her research about how did the Philippines become the new tiger economy of asia.

Raissa invited me to come to her villa because they will have a welcome party for ambassador HONEY MAE ARUEJO. She was sent by our government in the United Kingdom.

The next day, I found myself heeding for Tarlac. Raissa’s villa was there I saw KRISTEL TUGADE with CLARIBEL VILLAMIL. They become computer magnates – next to Bill Gates. Kristel with the production while Claribel with the innovations – that means billion dollars!

Fashionably dressed, GENEVIEVE PELAYO is the owner of Genevieve gozum, the sister company of Griffin to which it’s the executives' and celebrities’ haven for trendsetting fashion.

RAYMUND CAMACHO, a very successful computer programmer also came. He makes computer and xxxbox games using a 5 dimensional technology which revolutionized that industry.

The two lovely ladies, came ahead with their boyfriends. CIARRA CONCEPCION NAVA and JULIE ANN METRO, both business tycoon inline with the textile industry have an annual income of millions.

LARIZA JENN RIVERA was also there. She’s the most dreaded lawyer in a courtroom battle and had made herself the terror of corrupt leaders. She’s like and epitome of estilito Mendoza but with an added impartiality in seeking justice. Take note, Lariza was inspired by her current boyfriend Molderz.

The party was finished at midnight. I went back to manila the next day because I have an appointment. As I was passing Ortigas, I was struck by the name of the huge mall – BENTEUNO. I was intrigued so I entered the mall and got bumped to CRISLYN JOY PAGARAGAN. I learned that she’s the president of BenteUno. It has branches entire the country and plans to build one in America next month.

She also tells me that his famous landmark was designed by the interior designer KYRA MARRERO, who also decorated the Malacanang Palace. MYRES BASILIO, the vice president of the BenteUno mall is also cited as one of the country’s most efficient accountant.

At last, I arrived at the GORGEOUS INC., founded by  JAGABI AARON GULEDEW, the most respected and very influencing person with regards to mass media. According to Edessa, I will be needing the influence of Jagz and the whole Gorgeous Inc. in my work because they are networking half of the globe.

Gorgeous is in line with mass media. It’s the sister company of CNN to which FLORENCE STEPHANIE MAMARIL, an A.B. masscom degree holder is the new owner.

Approaching me with all smiles is Mr. KENNY ROBERT ALMENDARES, one of the major stockholders of the company and Mr. RYAN ECUNAR who leads the engineering department. Then they bade goodbye as they rode in their Harley Davidson big bikes.

"Well, they're very busy with their own Tennis Club and with someone," Florence giggled. I think we should start discussing the matter about …

Alas! Another meeting was finished again. And Florence also told me that they are confident that the Filipino cited by the US as a secret agent of the CIA was MELDEN DARRELL BARCELONA, the new crime fighter and peace maker of the world.

 

Then I ate my late lunch at a nearby restaurant. I saw RUTH FAITH BANNA, IVY BAGBAGEN, and STEFANIE MAE BELMES. Ruth Faith owns this Italian Restaurant which most executives and socialites go to eat. Then, it means it’s a highclass one. Ivy, our Snow White in College become the Bb. Pilipinas in year 2012 and now owns a Beauty Salon. Stefanie Mae became a Science Professor and a Dean in the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Then we listened as Ruth read in the newspaper that KATRINA MAE GUMATAY is the owner of the Gumatay Pharmaceutical Industry, a multi-billion dollar dynasty that girdled the globe.

I reached home late in the afternoon. I relax for a while coz its just like what I have seen and heard of my blockmates success can’t register in my senses. We, the Block 21 of 2006, how can we manage to do that? And how can I go back to the present?

Then I switched the TV and watched ANIME. Edessa said that the author and creator is AINA LAPENA. The show was beyond compare to Ghost Fighter and Hunter X Hunter that has became blockbusters so many years ago. After the show, I watched news and got surprised coz its about CHRIS ANN HUMIWAT, the first Filipina who joined the NASA in the space flight for Mars.

The 6th day was relaxation day because I have nothing to do. I browsed the newspapers and Internet to find places to spend the whole day. But instead what I saw were familiar names and faces.

The day of our block reunion came. JESSAMELLE GAPUZ, phoned me and asked me to drop by in her penthouse. Jessa said she’s a fashion designer in Europe. Well, I can obviously see it. She wears a Louis Vuitton bag and Gucci shoes and watch. She rode with me because her car was damaged. We reached Baguio in only half an hour with the use of my Dodge Viper having the most advanced turbo engine.

The big night came.

The venue was Baguio Country Club. BLOCK21 are all gathered here to celebrate the success of our block. I still could hardly imagined that we did it, we succeeded in our career.

Then a gorgeous woman came to me and gave me a gift. I asked Edessa, who was with me all the time – who am I and what do I do.

She answered as I opened the gift.

"ELLIS CHRISTIAN ANTHONY SY SU, okay, now you’re planning to build a new World Trade Center, you’re a medical doctor, a nurse, a businessman, an architect, a preacher, a freelance writer, one of the world’s top … runs a … owns the finest … travels in Rome, France, Europe …", Edessa was saying.

I could hardly hear what she’s saying. The gift is the antique clock itself! I’m dizzy and the world fell around me.

“Ellis, wake up. You’re late again!...”
